    Benko, Piasecky and coach Zvalo gave blood 2007 Dec 19
      The members of Slovak men's artistic gymnastics national team Alexander Benko and the best slovak gymnast, European Championships finalist and World Cup winner Samuel Piasecky together with their coach Martin Zvalo and other gymnastics coaches Adriana Tonkovicova, Peter Kristof and friends proved today that they are not only great gymnasts but also caring people. They went together to blood donner center in Bratislava to celebrate Holiday spirit by donating blood.

    Trnava will host 20th Gym Festival 2007 Jun 05
    Gym Festival Trnava 2007 Gymnastics club Trnava and Slovak Gymnastics Federation is hosting this weekend June 9-10 20th GYM - FESTIVAL TRNAVA 2007 which includes:
  • International Championships of Slovakia - women
  • Championships of Slovakia - women
  • 39th Cup of Trnava
  • Slovak cup for youth "A"
  • Helena and Jan Novaks and Vojtech Schön Memorial

      The gymnasts from Czech republic, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Turkey and Slovakia will compete.

    Kamila Ozorakova passed away 4. juna 2007
    Kamila Kostkova Ozorakova    It is with great sadness that Slovak Gymnastics Federation informs of the death of former national team member, coach and judge

    who died after long illness on Saturday, June 2, at the age of 54.
       The funeral will take place Thursday, June 7 at Krematorium
       She will be sorely missed by Slovak gymnastics community
    AUT - CZE - SVK - Voralberg in Voralberg (AUT) 2007 May 27

      Slovak junior team took part in quadruple meet Austria - Czech Republic - Slovakia and Voralberg taking place in Voralberg (AUT). Our gymnasts had a decent meet and finished 2nd. In spite of back pain lasting already third week Slavomir Michnak from Bratislava took second place All-Around with 75.000 points. Mistakes on his best event pommel horse cost him loosing credits for 2 elements "D" and lower than expected AA total.
      Peter Pardupa and Martin Argalas from Banska Bystrica performed solid routines without mistakes but start values of their routines are not very high. Denis Snirer had two falls on pommel horse and on high bar after catching "gienger" salto didn't manage to do "endo". On the floor he touched the floor with hands after double back which cost him higher ranking in All-Around.
      In the team competition all four gymnasts competed with 3 highest scores counting for a team.

      Samuel Piasecky from Slavie UK Bratislava had a great day during qualification round at World Cup - Salamunov Memorial in Maribor and advanced to three finals. Tomorrow he will compete in Floor Exercise Final and on Sunday in Parallel Bars (he advanced with 7th highest score) and Horizontal Bar, where he received the highest score from all participants during Friday's qualification.
      Alexander Benko, Slavia UK Bratislava, competed only on pommel horse. Unfortunately he had a fall in the end of his routine and finished 16th.

    Kovacova won Attila Pinter Memorial in Innsbruck 2007 Mar 26
    Kovacova Ivana winner of 2007 Attila Pinter Memorial   Kovacova Ivana (pictured - Inter Bratislava) won third time in a row junior competition in Innsbruck, Austria - Attila Pinter Memorial. She scored All-Around 51.200 points (VT 13.80, UB 11.90, BB 12.70, FX 12.80). Second place witn the score almost 2 points less went to Ecker Lisa from Austria (49.250), third was Mader Jasmin from ASVÖ (48.900), fourth Znidarsic Masa from Zelena Jama (48.500) and fith Baresova Veronika from Sokol Brno I (48.050). Another slovak gymnast Karaindrosova Athina took eight with 47.550 points.

      The best among younger girls (1995 and younger) were: 1. Lamprecht Corinne ASVÖ 51.300, 2 Hämmerle Elisa ASVÖ 48.500, 3 Machatova Vendula Sokol Brno 47.900. Mokosova Barbora form Slovakia finished 7th with 46.15 bodu and Acova Lucia 12th with 43.150 bodu.

      Slovak Slavomir Michnak took 4th place among male juniors with 73.850 points. 1 Rossi Gabriel ASVÖ 82.950, 2 Decker Matthias ASVÖ 76.750, 3 Suchanek Jakub Sokol Brno 75.150.

      Younger slovak male gymnasts Oliver Frandel took 5th place and Ivan Vargovsky 13th.

      Sekerova told IG her plans include this year's World Championships as she works toward a degree in graphic design in the United States.
